Vintage Engagement Ring With Pearl Side Stones

The Gigi ring is a vintage engagement ring with pearl side stones from the Edwardian Era, circa 1910! This ring centers a stunning 1.92 carat old cut oval diamond of approximately J color, I1 clarity. The diamond is set in 6 platinum prongs with a delicate and lightly scrolling gallery. To each side is a cultured pearl followed by three rose cut diamonds that line the thin and delicate shank. The ring is size 6 and can be resized!

Why We Love It

Ah, Gigi! La petite chérie! It was love at first sight for us! Old cut ovals are a rare find indeed, and this central stone is just stunning! The pearl accents add both a timeless elegance and a super chic look, along with a unique sense of balance. All too often, side stones are downplayed to support the central diamond. With Gigi, it’s a different story! The oval cut sets the central stone apart while the side pearls offer a bold counterpoint. The three stones remain distinct while complementing each other perfectly, each lending their shine to the other! Delicate details finish off this Edwardian beauty with a light setting and absolutely adorable little rose cut diamonds along the platinum band! These details make this ring a true treasure!

Decadent & Elegant: Vintage Edwardian Fashion

The Edwardian Era may have been brief—from approximately 1901 to 1915—but it was certainly memorable. At the turn of the century, situated between the austerity of the preceding Victorian taste and the later Art Deco experimentation, Edwardian fashion offers a unique sense of beauty. Also known as La Belle Epoque in French, meaning “The Beautiful Age,” this period is characterized by its romanticism.

Jewelry from the Edwardian Era is what your favorite characters from literature would have loved, and many vintage pieces carry their own sense of poetry. Edwardian jewelry is famous for carrying hidden meanings, from rings with secret compartments to acrostic jewelry, where the first letter of each stone would spell out a lover’s initials or some other message.

As we see with the Gigi ring, pearls are an apt metaphor to dive into the meaning behind this jewelry and its vintage history! A vintage engagement ring with pearl side stones offers a lovely constellation to study and admire!

Need to see another angle or have additional questions about a ring? Feel free to Contact Us, and we'd be more than happy to help you!

Q: Can we see the rings in person?

A. Yes! We are available by appointment in NYC! Feel free to Contact Us or call us to set up an appointment! Read all about appointments here!

Q: Can my ring be resized?

A. Yes! We offer one complimentary resizing and MOST rings can be resized. Each additional resize is $80. Contact us to see if a certain ring can be sized to your preference! Keep in mind that resizing can take up to a 1 week.

Q: Do you do custom work?

A. Yes! We do indeed do custom work when we source the center stone and we work exclusively with antique diamonds! We are not currently creating settings for stones that we do not source. The custom process starts at $10,000.

Q: What about diamond certification?

A. We wrote a whole page on your questions on diamond certification here!

Q: What is your return policy?

A. We are on a mission to pair people with their Dream Ring! If you are not happy with your purchase, we accept returns within 5 days of receiving the ring. Contact us and we will send you a return label to ship it back. Once we receive the ring in its original condition then we will issue a full refund. It may take a few days for the funds to show up in your account depending on your bank. Made-to-order rings are final sale.

Q: What types of payments do you accept?

A. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, certified check, bank transfer, and Affirm. Important note if you are using a credit/debit card: Most banks impose a spending limit so you may have to contact them to have that changed for a purchase or to let them know that you are making a large purchase. We are also able to split payments over multiple cards! For this option, you can contact us and we can walk you through it!

Q: Will an "out of stock" item be restocked?

A: Unfortunately not! These are all one of a kind vintage and antique engagement rings so there is no other ring quite like it! Sometimes we can recreate a sold piece so Contact Us if there is a style that you can't get off your mind. For some of the vintage-inspired pieces, we can often recreate the ring with another antique diamond.

Q: Will you sell the setting without the center stone?

A: Unfortunately not! We do not sell only settings and we try to preserve the vintage integrity so we do not separate the diamonds from the setting.

Q: What shipping do you offer?

A. We offer FREE overnight shipping Monday through Friday in the continental US. The package will come in a UPS or FedEx box and will not have our name on it in case it is a surprise! An adult signature is required upon delivery. The billing address on your order must match the shipping address. International shipments have a flat fee of $100 USD. Contact us for more information on international shipments.

Q: Do you offer payments plans?

A. We do offer layaway plans! Engagement rings can be a large purchase and we want you to be able to get the one that you want before someone else snatches up that one-of-a-kind piece! We offer up to 60-day installment plans and are happy to split payments over multiple cards if needed. Since layaway rings are taken off the market for extended periods of time, they are exchangeable but not returnable. Payments are non-returnable for payment plans. Contact us at info@victorbarbone.com to set up a plan that works for you!

Q: What countries do you ship to?

A. We ship to the United States, Canada, the UK, most European countries, Australia, as well as many other countries. Feel free to contact us to see if we ship to your country! There are often duties and taxes associated with importing jewelry so you can contact your country's customs agency for help in calculating that cost! Shipping on international shipments is a flat $100 USD fully insured.

If we haven't answered your question here, feel free to Contact Us or call us at 646-867-8772 and we will answer any questions you may have!
